ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

Our Commitment to Accessibility

Yappify AI, the developer of alif.ai, is committed to making our productivity application accessible to the widest possible audience, including individuals with disabilities. We believe everyone should be able to use our software and website with ease. Accessibility is an important consideration in our design and development process, and we strive to follow best practices and relevant standards to the extent possible for a small software company.

However, we acknowledge that our app is currently simple in design and functionality, and it may not yet meet all accessibility standards, such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) at level AA, in full. This statement outlines our current status and efforts regarding accessibility, and our plans to improve.

Accessibility Features and Considerations

• Simple User Interface: The alif.ai app has a clean and straightforward interface which we hope makes it easier for most users to navigate. The simplicity of the app (with a limited number of buttons and options) is intended to reduce complexity for users, including those who may use assistive technologies.

• Font and Contrast: We have chosen a legible font and a high-contrast color scheme for the app’s interface where possible, aiming to make text readable for users with visual impairments or color vision deficiencies. Our website also uses clear text and background contrast.

• Keyboard Navigation: We aim to ensure that all features of the app and website can be accessed via keyboard. Because the app is a desktop application, standard OS accessibility features (like keyboard shortcuts or voice input tools) should work with it. On our website, we strive to support navigation via keyboard for those who cannot use a mouse.

• Testing: We have performed basic accessibility testing on our website and app (such as using screen reader software on common platforms) to identify obvious barriers. So far, no critical issues have been found in basic use, but our testing is ongoing and we know there is always room for improvement.

Areas for Improvement

We recognize that alif.ai may not fully conform to all requirements of WCAG 2.1 or other accessibility guidelines at this time. Some potential limitations and areas we are working on include:

• Screen Reader Compatibility: While the app interface is simple, certain controls or status messages might not yet be announced properly by screen readers. We are reviewing our UI elements to add appropriate labels or descriptions (e.g., ensuring that any icons or buttons have accessible text labels).

• Keyboard Focus Indicators: We want to improve visible focus indicators in the app, so that when navigating via keyboard, it’s clear which element is focused.

• Alternative Text on Website: Ensuring all images on our website have descriptive alternative text for visually impaired users. (Our app itself has minimal imagery, but our site may contain screenshots or logos that we will properly label.)

• Documentation: We plan to provide accessible documentation or help guides for using the app, including text-based instructions (especially important for users who cannot easily perceive any visual cues in the app interface).

At this stage, some aspects of the app might not be fully optimized for assistive technologies. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are actively seeking to address these gaps.

Ongoing Efforts to Improve Accessibility

Accessibility is not a one-time project for us, but an ongoing effort:

• Continual Updates: We are continuously learning about accessibility best practices and will incorporate improvements into future versions of the app and updates to our website. For example, as we receive feedback or identify issues, we will update the user interface and underlying code to be more accessible. This could include adding keyboard shortcuts, improving color contrast further, or restructuring page layouts for better screen reader flow.

• Feedback-Driven Changes: User feedback is invaluable. If a user with a disability encounters a problem using our app or website, we want to hear about it. We prioritize fixes for any reported accessibility issues.

• Staying Informed: We keep ourselves informed of evolving accessibility guidelines (such as upcoming WCAG 2.2 standards) and legal requirements to ensure our product remains compliant where it needs to be, and usable by as many people as possible.

• Expert Consultation: As a small team, we are mostly handling accessibility in-house, but we are open to consulting external accessibility experts in the future to audit our app/website and provide guidance on improvements.

Our goal is to reach a high level of conformance with recognized standards (like WCAG 2.1 AA) over time, and to make alif.ai usable and enjoyable for all our customers.
